Giveaway! ARC of "The Blood King" and "Dark Lady's Chosen" by Gail Z. Martin

Just as I promised at the end of yesterday's post, I have a giveaway featuring TWO books from Chronicles of the Necromancer by Gail Z. Martin to offer to one lucky winner.

The first book is a limited edition ARC copy of The Blood King

The hugely anticipated second book in the Chronicles of the Necromancer series, following The Summoner, one of the most successful fantasy debuts of the year.

Outcast Prince Martris Drayke continues his quest to seek retribution and restore his father's honour. He must gather his allies and make a direct challenge to the armies of his brother, Jared. Meanwhile, Jared's mage seeks to raise the spirit of the Obsidian King, and creates an imbalance in the natural currents of magic. Tris must learn to use his powers as a Summoner to fight the forces of evil plaguing the Winter Kingdoms.

"Attractive characters and an imaginative setting."
- David Drake, author of the Lord of the Isles series.

And the second book that will go to the winner is latest book in "The Chronicles of the Necromancer" series, Dark Lady's Chosen.

Treachery and blood magic threaten King Martris Drayke’s hold on the throne he risked everything to win. As the battle against a traitor lord comes to its final days, war, plague and betrayal bring Margolan to the brink of destruction.

Civil war looms in Isencroft.

Finally, in Dark Haven, Lord Jonmarc Vahanian has bargained his soul for vengeance as he leads the vayash moru against a dangerous rogue who would usher in a future drenched in blood.

"Just when you think you know where things are heading, Martin pulls another ace from her sleeve... believable characters move through a beautifully realized world with all the quirks, depths and levels of a real place." - A.J. Hartley, author of The Mask of Atreus

The books are being offered courtesy of Gail Z. Martin herself and she has graciously offered to ship worldwide! Just add your information to the form below to enter and I will randomly pick a winner by Friday April 15th. (All information is guaranteed confidential and will be discarded once the contest is over). No multiple entries please-- all multiple entries will be discarded. Open everywhere.

Good luck!

Giveaway! "Your Hate Mail Will Be Graded" by John Scalzi

I am a huuuge John Scalzi fan. Old Man's War is easily one the best books I've ever read. Scalzi's accessibility also extends to the blogoshpere where he has been writing and conversing with his fans for over 10 years. The most popular of those posts have been put together in a compilation that, courtesy of Tor Books, I am able to offer one copy for giveaway today.

On September 13, 1998, John Scalzi sat down in front of his computer to write the first entry in his blog Whatever--and changed the history of the Internet as we know it today.

What, you're not swallowing that one? Okay, fine: He started writing Whatever and amused about 15 people that first day. If that many. But he kept at it, for ten years and running. Now 40,000 people drop by on a daily basis to see what he's got to say.

About what? Well, about whatever: Politics, writing, family, war, popular culture and cats (especially with bacon on them). Sometimes he's funny. Sometimes he's serious (mostly he's sarcastic). Sometimes people agree with him. Sometimes they send him hate mail, which he grades on originality and sends back. Along the way, Scalzi's become a best-selling, award-winning author, a father, and a geek celebrity. But no matter what, there's always another Whatever post to amuse and/or enrage his readers.

Your Hate Mail Will Be Graded collects some of the best and most popular Whatever entries from the first ten years of the blog – a decade of Whatever, presented in delightfully random form, just as it should be.

The rules are the same as always. Just add your information to the form below to enter and I will randomly pick a winner by Wednesday April 14th. (All information is guaranteed confidential and will be discarded once the contest is over.) No multiple entries please. All multiple entries will be discarded. Open everywhere.

Good luck.

Giveaway! "Directive 51" by John Barnes

Courtesy of Penguin Books I have a copy of Directive 51 by John Barnes to offer for giveaway.

Heather O'Grainne is the Assistant Secretary in the Office of Future Threat Assessment, investigating rumors surrounding something called "Daybreak." The group is diverse and radical, and its members have only one thing in common-their hatred for the "Big System" and their desire to take it down.

Now, seemingly random events simultaneously occurring around the world are in fact connected as part of Daybreak's plan to destroy modern civilization-a plan that will eliminate America's top government personnel, leaving the nation no choice but to implement its emergency contingency program...Directive 51.

Doesn't this sound good? (I was psyched to get an extra copy to pass on) Just add your information to the form below to enter and I will randomly pick a winner by Thursday April 8th. (All information is guaranteed confidential and will be discarded once contest ends). No multiple entries please. All multiple entries will be discarded. Open everywhere.

Good luck.

Giveaway! "Shadow Prowler" by Alexey Pehov

Courtesy of Tor Books I have a copy of Shadow Prowler by Alexey Pehov to offer for giveaway. There's some nice buzz on this book so I'm really happy to have an extra copy to offer for giveaway...

After centuries of calm, the Nameless One is stirring.

An army is gathering; thousands of giants, ogres, and other creatures are joining forces from all across the Desolate Lands, united, for the first time in history, under one, black banner. By the spring, or perhaps sooner, the Nameless One and his forces will be at the walls of the great city of Avendoom.

Unless Shadow Harold, master thief, can find some way to stop them.

Epic fantasy at its best, Shadow Prowler is the first in a trilogy that follows Shadow Harold on his quest for a magic Horn that will restore peace to the Kingdom of Siala. Harold will be accompanied on his quest by an Elfin princess, Miralissa, her elfin escort, and ten Wild Hearts, the most experienced and dangerous fighters in their world…and by the king’s court jester (who may be more than he seems…or less).

Reminiscent of Moorcock's Elric series, Shadow Prowler is the first work to be published in English by the bestselling Russian fantasy author Alexey Pehov. The book was translated by Andrew Bromfield, best known for his work on the highly successful Night Watch series.

Just add your information to the form below to enter (all information is guaranteed confidential and will be discarded once the contest ends) and I will randomly pick a winner by Thursday April 1st. No multiple entries please. All multiple entries will be discarded. Open everywhere.

Good luck!
